    Lowther Run CL 13.5m/1500'

Has anyone off the forum done this race?

I've been looking at it for a few years now but haven't managed to get round to doing it yet.

I really, really fancy giving it a go this year and knowing the Lowther area i would imagine that it's more of a testing cross-country/trail race than a fell race. Any information about the course would be gratefully appreciated though.

I have run Lowther a few times Danbert it is more of a trail race as it does not have the the mud of cross country and it does not have the climbs of a fell race, but it is an excellent fast course (for those of you that are fast) and makes for a great day out with all the associated horse trails etc thrown in.

Give it a go you will not be disappointed i will be back for another go this year

I have done this 3 times Danbert but i will be in the US when it is on this year. It is virtually all on trails and some tarmac. There has never been any mud when i have done it and i have always done it in road shoes.

For reference on times the last time i did it i had done 1hour 30mins for a half marathon a couple of weeks before and did 1 hour 46 mins at Lowther but it was a blazing hot day.
