    Beginners from Bangor

    Hi there,

Just wondering if there are any fell running beginners from around Bangor (Gwynedd) around here...

I've been running around the outskirts of the city and around the backs of Rachub for the past couple of months - I'm curious as to what any other beginners might get up to when they go out to run/train.

I've just decided to enter the Moel Wnion race too - anyone else?

    Ta!

Well done Jack! You are a lucky dab for living in Bangor with some of the finest fell running country in the world laid at your feet! Don't know how old you are but good luck with the racing.

    Ta!

Yep, the countryside around here is pretty great - shame I've got to rely on the bus service to get me out into it though!

I'm still a fairly young chap - but I still fully expect to have folded by the time I get to the first steep section of my debut race next month. Ah, well.

You might try Eryri Harriers - after many years some of them are still beginners (oops I might get slated for that comment!!) Have a look at the website:

In any case there's a low key race on 22nd August from Mynnydd Llandegai that you might like to have a go at.

(But I wouldn't recommend the one two days later!)

I've already been in touch with the Harriers, ta! I'll be joining up next month... Tuesday night hill reps - yay! I'm assuming by your username that you're a club member...

Llandegai race sounds like a lark - is it easier to get up than Moel Wnion? I could treat it as a warm-up to my Wnion in September...

Contrary to what some Snowdowners think there's more than one club in North Wales!

OK Eryri won most of the prizes but this is me about to win my bottle of wine at Saturday's Gladstone race.
