    Great Westmorland trail

(Putting it here as it's also in the FRA calendar)

I'm en-route to a few days in the Lakes when this is on so may take a bit of a detour.

    Anyone done this before?

    Any route map available anywhere?

    Cheers

Not yet mr b but just emailed the organiser.

I need to decide this w/e (ie after visit to physio tomorrow) whether I'm going to run as it's £12 entry on the day and a 'mere' £8 in advance!!

MT-you could always do the Settle Loop Tough Trail race the day after £6 pre entry or £8 on the day!!!! (incl cakes)

Unfortunately I'll be in the Lakes by then - it's a shame the Settle loop race isn't on the Saturday as would've been ideal.

Just bring a road bike and pop down to Bowland to watch the Tour of Britain enroute from Rochdale to Blackpool!
    A circular route mostly downhill

    Now there's a thought!

I've entered now and got general route details from the organiser, looks like a good race - esp looking forward to the climb out of Potts valley.

Anyone else coming out to play?

Well 143 came out to play today - a cracking race if you like this sort of thing (as I do) with a nice walking climb (for most) at 5 miles to keep the real fellrunners happy. Otherwise mostly rolling grassy moorland paths and tracks after the initial road/track climb and with cracking views of the Howgills, Lakes fells and Mallerstang at different stages.

Thanks to Fraser Livesey and all at Howgill Harriers and Crosby Garrett villagers who helped, including for encouraging the sun to make an appearance for the race.

At the sharp end a new course record for Morgan Donnelly while further down the field it was good to see there was a prize for first V80!!
