I'm pretty sure that one of the Dark Peak completers from a couple of years ago was of Asian (Chinese or Japanese) lineage. Don't know of any from India/Pakistan.

We had a thread some time ago about *foreign* completers (I use the word advisedly) and it seems that there are remarkably few to date, probably less than half a dozen Irish runners for example. It does seem to be a very local challenge but does have some visibility overseas so we might get a few more. The difficulty of course for anyone not residing in the UK is getting a good weather window to coincide with a trip here.

Good luck to the pair of you!

Bob, I wonder if you're thinking of Chi Trinh from Pudsey & Bramley? Not that I know him personally, but I do recall the article in Fellrunner ("P&B Do The BG") and also noted that he put up a very good performance in the Dragon's Back a few weeks back.

Yes, it was - they (P&B) were doing their round on the same day I was supporting one of Ilkley Harriers on leg 3 and had assumed that given the numbers of contenders it was Dark Peak. The publicly available members' list only shows names not clubs so until I get home I'm going on the same general info as anyone else.

I was posting in jest Adnan - seriously tho' (& again excuse the thread hijacking) would prefer to attempt 1 or 2 of the superlongs eg Ennerdale or Wasdale before attempting a BG in order to guage the requirements / my capabilities. Best wishes with your attempt and the training - post on here your reccie dates and you never know I may turn up..........
