You're right, it is a long way from Sheffield! The north is big. We had a panic start getting everything together.

I had a good run in a pack of 5 behind the lead pair. I then watched Spyke run up the hill from Arden Hall (I didn't run up that hill!) and catch the lead pair on Hambledon Hill with about 4 miles to go: he just shot off. I think Spyke broke the course record in 4h35m.

I got enough points to make the Downland Ultra a painful proposition.

The great thing about the Montrail series is that it gets you to races and places you wouldn't otherwise go to. It was fantastic to be back in the North York Moors.

I'll probably be there. Unfinished business. I will be after dipping under the 6.00 hour mark after missing it by seconds last time out.

I found it a fast route very runnable with steep climbs and long run offs.

Watch out the dogs by the farm yard.

I might possibly have a crack at this. Will it be possible to enter on the day though?

    Re: Osmotherley Phoenix

I've entered. Based on the times above, I now know to expect more than 6 hours.

Stolly, there is a limit to the number of entries, and the overall limit includes the two shorter options. I think you might be taking a chance if you leave it too long.

    I'm in.
I don't remember a dog problem in 2007. I was probably in survival mode and didn't notice them, or forgot them.
There's a thread on this on the RW forum. A few of us are staying over on the Saturday night.
