Something and nothing but can anyone tell me what the Beatles song was that was playing as we walked into the chapel last Thursday. I was in no state to take it on board

Andrew, it did register with me at the time, BUT what with the emotions of the service and the banter at the "do" afterwards, I'm blowed if I can recall which Beatles song it was.
I've taken a lot of positives from the the service, Luv Shack's poem and particularly the poem of Amanda's on the order of service; but I still feel inadequate to post anything meaningful on any of these threads.
Darren really was one of the best.

    Ian.

I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

    Ian.
It was for a truly horrible reason that so many friends and family had to get together, but you're absolutely right, there were a lot of positives. Many things happened that I will never ever forget

All My Loving ("Close your eyes and I'll kiss you, tomorrow I'll miss you ...") - and it was very strange, but I started humming that tune to myself on the way to the funeral as I drove down the M1. Couldn't believe it when I walkd into the chapel.

I went to see one of my Derbyshire customers yesterday. He lives in Ilkeston (a couple of streets from where Darren lived) and knew about Darren's passing. I've not known this guy very long but we have connections in that we have many mutual friends and he runs a small plant which is one of the very last remaining outposts of a trade that used to employ thousands of people in the East Midlands; the trade I was employed in on leaving school. He sounds incredibly like Darren and it was great if bittersweet to see him yesterday

Took me by surprise, the article, this morning on the train. Bit of an emotional moment!

A fitting long term tribute to Daz?, resulted in a lot of discussions and suggestions tonight at the AGM
