OHW, strangely in this case it hasn't gone quickly for me. So much has happened over the past year and so many things have caused me to think of Daz, it seems a long time. It's probably linked to the number of local fell races I've done where I might have seen him and always thought about him. Does anyone else feel this way?

I can't believe it's nearly two years since Daz was taken from us. He's still missed by many I'm sure.

A couple of days after he died I went for a long run over the wild hills at the end of the Derwent valley on a bright clear morning to reflect.
I did a similar run last year in similar conditions. Today I went out for a random run and for some reason I ended up in the same wild spot with out any thought to the route or the date. It was only on the run down off Barrow stones that I realised the significance.

I thought about daz yesterday (as I often do). We met a couple in Devon who were judging by their accents very clearly from close to "home"

I've been to Bramcote crematorium today and very quickly realised the chapel was the one used for daz's service. The guy conducting affairs was the same one too. RIP Darren and RIP Chris - you would have been very proud of your son today

Not sure if it's this thread being resurrected, or the Daz H race a few weeks back, but there's been a small flurry of donations to the Just Giving pages for Daz - thank you.

thanks for pointing this out Ian, with Eccles Pike tonight I'm reminded of a hell of a duel we had at the same race in 2011. Still miss seeing him and chatting at races.
