    Oven cleaner advice needed!

I put the oven on this morning and after giving it chance to warm up opened the door to be met by clouds of acrid black smoke. Now this is obviously nothing to do with years of bachelor suppers of frozen pizza or fishfinger sandwiches but presumably something to do with Stef cooking salads and things in there. Anyway I'm in need of an effective oven cleaner. Any suggestions please?

Thanks for the suggestion Manhar. Do they do a 'same-day' service? Stef will be back from a trip away late afternoon and she'll be hungry!

The fact that it needs cleaning suggests Stef isn't "an effective oven cleaner" ???

Phone the takeway order in and Stef can pick it up on the way!

I think you should watch that video and give it a good deep clean. Stef will come home to either a gleaming oven or you on the internet ordering a new one as you can't put the old one back together again :-)

I looked into the oven and in the bottom was a pool of brown liquid 'Withnailian matter'. My guess is it's some kind of salad juice. I've wiped it out with some of that wide flowery toilet paper that women like in kitchens and all's well again!

Lemon is a great grease cutter. To make lemon oven cleaner, mix equal parts of lemon juice and salt.Apply the lemon oven cleaner to oven stains and let it sit for 15 minutes.Use a green scrubby and rinse and wipe the oven clean.

Lemon is for gin and tonic Antoine. Something a bit more core is needed here. I was thinking high concentration caustic alkali, banned organic solvents, pressure hoses, maybe a flame-thrower :closed:
