    a) Windproof whole body cover.

    c) Map and compass suitable for navigating the course.
    d) Whistle.
    e) Emergency food (long races).

According to FRA rules (http://www.fellrunner.org.uk/pdf/com...uirements.pdf). I can't find an online version of WFRA rules at the moment.

WFRA regulations are the same as FRA.

Living locally in Llandudno i know this race extreamly well.

The start is almost as steep as the first mile of the Perys Horseshoe passing the Youth Hostel in Rowen.

I can remember running it a few years ago in temperatures above 80F with intense sunshine with no wind.

In clear cool conditions navigation is pretty straight forward, once you are over Tal Y Fans summit you head straight for the Druids circle which in mist can be tricky.

A tough start but certainly a race worth doing.:w00t:

yes quite a stiff little climb on the road to begin, really enjoyed this race when I did it, some smashing views too and a little scrambling:d, unfortunately heading to do Bollington on Sunday instead as it's a club counter for us, good luck Pinno if you do it!

pinno - don't look at the 2008 results, I was dead last!
harrymoon - "quite a stiff little climb" - I seem to remember you more accurately describing it as "stupidly steep"!
Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run

Probably my worst race of 2008. Just didn't enjoy it and have never done it since. I'd just come of the boat, had a bad run, had gut issues, got lost in the bogs. Not enjoyable. Stan Charles and Rob Samual who were miles ahead got lost so I ended up winning in a pretty awful time, possibly THE slowest winning time for the course.
