I was 3 mins slower this year. Definitely due to the hotter day. Really enjoyed it though. Really well organised. Was the first bottleneck any better? I admit I bust a gut to make sure I was through it early!

I too got through it early but still had c 20secs wait (based on my Garmin 'moving time' v 'actual time' for first mile).

The uphill loop must have helped to spread out the field to some extent. However, I didn't know the bottleneck was coming so failed to get off to the required fast beat-'em-to-it start. I had to wait an awful lot longer than Martin's 20 seconds.

Yes, will be there for the 3rd successive year. Was out on the route this morning and bumped into Emma the organiser and her team checking marshalling positions. Apparently along with a slightly revised start there will be changes down the bottom of the first loop - to avoid stiles and mud!

I like the stiles and the mud! Still should be a good race though. Will be my 3rd year too. I just hope it's not as hot as last year.

My idea was to start very slowly and pick up the pace midway through.
I executed the first half of the plan perfectly.

Missed you today TF. I redeemed myself after leaving my racing legs at home for Tuesday's Jack Bloor race. Was a couple of minutes quicker than last year despite the windy conditions. That said the new start and changes to the first mile and entry into Spring Wood made it a slightly shorter route and of course less stiles.
