    Thumbs up Whichover trousers

Have been looking to buy a pair of overtrousers (for both running & walking)and was in Blacks the other day. Saw 1 or 2 North face or Berghaus at 79 or 89 quid.
Was wondering which overtrousers people wear / recommend, perhaps a bit more economically priced - or is it like most things - you gets what you pay for.

    Cheers

    Re: Which over trousers

Mine are unbranded, vaguely breathable and bright blue.

They cost £12 over 10 years ago and I've worn them once in a race and a dozen times otherwise. The important thing for me was to be able to get them on and off easily over running shoes or walking boots! Most of the year I just carry them for emergencies.

I use the montane, atomic pants I think, meant to be about the lightest water proof pants around and quite comfy to wear, I've worn them running before. I think ~£60. http://www.sailgb.com/p/montane_atom...roof_trousers/

Have a look at the OMM kamlieka pants - soft feel, stretchy and mega-comfortable to wear when running...none of that 'crisp packet' noise.

i would never run in anything else (not that i use them much!)

Running Bear do some very lightweight Pertex over trousers that are pretty cheap, more suited to running than walking.

For comfort & warmth when walking you really want lined ones like my Berghaus aquafoil pants. The don't seem to get clingy & sticky and have poppers all the way up the sides of both legs.

The only problem with the OMM gear is the weight, 250g is quite a lot for a pair of trousers if used for racing.
