Good luck to everyone running tomorrow. Looking forward to it. The weather looks ok too, happy days.

Gutted to have missed the race. Was on my way Friday midday then caught up in traffic jam on M1 (lorry fire) and subsequently missed my flight from Birmingham. No other flights that day and a plan B via ferry would have cost £300+. The race organiser has kindly allowed me (and my friend) to defer entry to next year - nice gesture, much apreciated. Our bad luck continued as then decided to head up to the Lakes so we'd at least get some fell running in.........more nightmare traffic and 8 hrs later we arrive at Ambleside (should take me circa 4 hrs). Anyway got a nice little run in on Saturday, but really claggy, could hardly see a thing. How was the weather on the IOM?

It was a great race - a shame you missed it. It was misty in the first half, but fine in the southern section. Good conditions underfoot.
A nice little video of it here. Pity the poor chap at 5min 20secs...

It was a Manx Fell Runners one-two in the Isle of Man Mountain Ultra at the weekend.
Rob Sellors won the 50km in a time of 5:34:23, exactly 11 minutes ahead of Ian Gale. Visiting runner Mark Bottomley of 10peaks.com was third, a further 22 minutes back.
Mary Gillie, from Clwydian Range Runners in Wales, was the first female runner home, and 10th overall, in a time of 6:29:20.
In a race of two halves with a damp and misty first half followed by sun and fantastic views. Competitors tackled 12 peaks and 2,600 metres of ascent on the route from Ramsey to Port Erin, which cuts diagonally through the Island between the two.
The shorter Isle of Man Mountain Race, run on the St John's to Port Erin section of the Mountain Ultra course, was won by Lloyd Taggart of Manx Fell Runners.
Full results for the Ultra and shorter Race can now be found on the website www.isleofmanmountianultra.com
Good going down !!
I have fond memories of doing this in 2006 and 2007 when it was called the Manx Mountain Marathon and it was held at Easter. The weather was always good. I've wanted to return ever since. I fancy 2015 for a comeback.
Well it would certainly be good to see you back, hopefully we should soon have some exciting news for the 2015 event, watch this space !
Good going down !!
