Bloomin' marvellous race that! Thoroughly enjoyed my first romp on the Bowland fells despite the "wheels falling off"(as usual!) at the top of Parlick. Thanks to all at Bowland etc who organised it and braved the sun at the checkpoints.
And good to catch up (Shaun, James) and meet new folk. 'Al Fowler' and 'Pudgy' gave me a shout at the bottom of the last climb, Dave Tait from DP the only other clubmate.
That last climb was stiffer than exepcted , "fiendish" you might say...
Really enjoyed it yesturday!
Got there quicker than i thought i would on the bike and sort of sat on the bike feeling abit out of place whilst the few people that where already there gave me some strange looks.
Eventually all the preston harriers turned up and eventually Wheezing Donkey appeared and we headed off to checkpoint 1 where Pacman who decided not to run and Pudgy and his dogs arrived from nowhere!
CP8 was fantastic! The peace and quite, the scenery and the sun just chilling out sitting in the grass waiting for the runners to appear in the distance coming down the 2nd to last decent.
Was good to watch all the different lines everyone took, i know which line im taking if i get to do it next year.
Met Ali at CP1, and "Are you Al" Jodg
Big thanks to Wheezing Donkey for offering to let me marshal, really really enjoyed it. Also quite enjoyed ignoring my injury for a moment and racing down parlick to the finish once the last runner was on his way down.
I shall be adding this to me 'to do list'!
Good pics from Pudgy and Ali, really capture the event and good weather.
It's time Pudgy stopped watching and got his act together and started doing some running to give the Pendle Plodder some competition.
I see Mapper has those same shorts on AGAIN
He will flog them on E bay in a couple of years and start wearing the other pair he bought at the same time.
Oi, I ran Lads Leap today. Though I'm a long way from being near the Plodder. And I did do some sun bathing today as well
