    Depends on the weather!!

The CPs are in obvious places, next to ladder stiles, sheep pens, summits etc

Use your navigation skills and you will be OK, the paths are generally obvious or you can follow fence lines.

The climbs are tough and if the wind is as strong and cold as it has been the last couple of days dress up warm!

    Re: Fiendsdale

    There are 9 CP's:-
CP7 is @ Paddy's Pole on the summit of Fairsnape Fell
CP8 is @ the NW base of Parlick Pike - easy to miss, several did last year, despite myself and a colleague wearing bright flourescent cags which were visible from the ridge path, on a beatiful, clear sunny day.
CP9 is @ Parlick Pike summit.
If it pans out the same as last year, I should be back @ CP8 this year.
To be quite honest, some of you on this thread have got me really worried. Andy has given you a NGR for the start and registration, and you don't appear to be coping with that and locating it on the map in the comfort of your own homes! I've run this race in previous years, in conditions that were even worse than what we experienced at Edale, last w/e, where I helped to escort a collapsed / seriously hypothermic competitor off the moors. I do not really want to repeat that trauma this Saturday, if at all possible. I apologise if I sound like 'The Fell Fascist', but fell running at this season of the year can be a matter of life and death.

Don't worry - I have the GR's from the website and my map and I DO know which way to hold it - just like to be prepared as haven't run round the area or managed to go for a recce. Thanks for the checkpoint info.

If I can get round 12 miles of Winter Hill on a shocking day in the clagg i'm sure it will be ok and won't need a stretcher
