Smile Bob Graham 6-7 July 2007

Breaking news!Mick Howard just completed at about ten past nine after a midnight start, Oz completed about 20 mins earlier, well done to both. I supported leg 1 conditions not to bad, when I again joined with Mrs M on leg 3 at the head of Langdale some heavy showers, not very pleasant. Once again well done.

Congrats to both, really fast times in mixed conditions by the sounds of it.

Well done to contenders and supporters alike

Congrats to Mick and Oz, sounded like they've both been training really hard so thoroughly deserved!

I can't imagine Mik not preparing for his BG, he'll be a changed man.

Although I did hear him mention mont blanc.......

Just spoken to Mick, his time was 21hr 26mins. He said that a chunk of time was lost in Scafell range. Really chuffed to finish. Once again well done. The way my legs feel today after one and a bit legs of the BG, I cannot imagine doing the whole thing. Much respect to everyone who completes the BG

Mick was looking really strong on all the back half - to give an idea we were on yewbarrow in 41 and we continued to pick up a lot of time all the way on sec 4 - the only place he struggled a bit was steep down to honister.

Lucky with the weather: the only place we were in clag was steeple, for the most part the clouds lifted just before we got to the summits, and it turned into a lovely evening.

Does anyone know how the calder valley lad got on- he was behind both oz and mick?

He successfully completed in 23:02. Fantastic effort by Ben who showed great strength and a good sense of humour all the way round. What a superb weekend, well done to all three and all their supporters.

Well done Ozzy and Mick. We knew it wasn't about whether you would get round but what time you would do it in.

Great to meet up with Saddleworth and Rossendale runners. All adds to the fab experience. Thanks for inviting us along.

Yet another great weekend with your mates. It's going to be a cracking do at the dinner.

Congratulations to Ben for completing as well.

Cheers, and big smiles all around,

    The Joker
