    Re: Chasing the Dragon

When I try chasing the dragon, I usually buy a good bit of opium from the lad down the road, and just sit back and chill....none of this running biz

Just a quick general question re: Dragons Back Race. Is there an experience requirement check for the 60 drawn places?

Yes, it will be very rigorous. At the Q+A after the premier Shane said he had set aside 3 and a half WEEKS to vet applications!

He is another who likes to do things properly :-)

Thats what I was thinking DT. IanFitz too. Its possible with a lot of specific training I guess, and its hard when the OP doesn't really give much detail of 'experience' but makes it sound very limited!?

Ah! That'll be my mates entry in the bin then I think! He's another 'blinkered optimist', which isn't necessarily a bad thing until it gets him in bother up a fell somewhere!!

    Re: Chasing the Dragon

Just to put something into the thread. Considering where your based, I'd get onto a plane for a training week to some decent European mountains, Pyrenees or the Alps would be my choice.

Worth building into a long term plan in my opinion. A haul up a 3000ft high mountain don't seem so big if you've trained on hauls over 3000m mountains.

I was thinking about general 'toughening up' rather than specifically for the Dragon's Back, but you're right I think
