Question Do you ever say thanks ?

    Just a thought....

We all like a good moan about how a race is either badly organised or too expensive or too popular or not popular enough!

    But
Have you ever taken the time to email the organisers to thank them for doing a good job? I did this recently and got a great response. Try it some time!

Yes , emailed The Lyke wake committee and the Rotary Club of upper Eden for the Mallerstang Yomp. Both races are organised excellently.

I always try to say thanks to the marshalls as I pass them, without them there'd be no race.

I often thank the marshals as I jog past. I even apologize to walkers for getting in the way of their stroll.
I regularly email organisers to thank them for their efforts.

I always like to say thanks to the organisers where possible - as someone who helps Bisto out with our 10Ks, I know what a thankless job it can be!

If I'm not running hard or suffering too much I say thanks, sometimes apologise to the marshals for holding them up if I'm having a bad day.

Incase any of the organisers haven't heard me say thanks, I just want to say how greatful I am to all race organisers & marshals for turning out to help out with the events!!

I generally always drop a letter of thanks to the organisers.

The way i'm running at the moment though, i think i'm going to start asking the marshals before the race starts, to equip me with one of those sticks with a big spike on, so that i can pick up litter on the way round.

I always thank the marshals especially if they are on some godforsaken hill top in bad weather.

As a race organiser I know if no one complains at the end it has gone well, but it is a real boost to actually receive some thanks which I make known to all the helpers.
