I was very scared at night and very tired too (had good few miles where I was sleep-walking) so after Cowgill I tried to stay on the roads instead until the sun rose next morning.

    Here's my strava thingy
That's excellent is that. And it makes a great Strava recording. My thumb got sore scrolling down to the bottom of the segments!

Definitely going to give this a go

Are there plenty of places on route to buy food/ top up with water?

a few, but there are stretches without any. worth checking the route guide. for a two day jaunt it's not a problem, but for a oner I'd prefer to have some support somewhere with food and drink.

I had zero planning and carried everything from the start. It was a spontaneous decision when I found out some of my running mates were having a weekend at the Lakes so can get a lift back.
I carried a liter of milk (I like milk), a liter of water, 5 wraps and a great deal of flapjack and by the time I got to The Sportsmans Inn Pub I was starving . From memory I think you can get some food from Grassington and Dent and probably after Dent too, only if you get there during sociable hours. I managed to get my water bottles filled up from someone's house in Grassington and then at the Pub. I also remember people having picnics at Bolton Abbey and there was a shop as well but it was too early on in the run so didn't stop there at all.

There are several opportunities for refueling in Wharfedale: George at Hubberholme, pub, shop and cafes in Buckden, pub in Starbotton, loads of facilities at Kettlewell and Grassington plus several in Burnsall, two of the best pubs in the Dales in Appletreewick, the Cav Pav at Bolton Abbey . . . I reckon a two dayer with a pint in each pub would make for a right good run out
