I have to keep telling myself this all the time. Came last in the Forest Five last night and left wondering why do I bother?
Knew that last place beckoned as there was a small field and far, far too many club vests!
I bother because there are times when it feels great and for the love of the outdoors...
as already has been said you are there making the effort and not sitting on yer bum like so many people do, you are out there doing it. The last trail race I did everyone cheered when the last man came in, just because he'd worked hard and deserved to be applauded I reckon
