Before the world trail I did a 2 week taper.. 70% load, 40% load.. so I run 90 miles a week.. 63 miles.. then 36 miles/week.. yet most of that sharp.. including one easy rep session, 5 x 1km.. at around 5:40 pace or so.. with good rest, then short 4-5 milers at 6:30 ish pace.. then final easy day...

    Thats my standard taper now.

Isn't it 70% of your normal weekly running in the penultimate week and 40% in the actual week?

My running weeks all begin on the Monday so I'm still penultimate weeking till Sunday for the LL100. I normally run 50 ish on average each week and will have probably done something like 35 by Sunday and just intend to do short dawdling runs Monday to Thursday next week.

Yes.. I don't count the even of course..

So I shift my week.. so if I race Saturday its 35-40 miles in the last week, S,S,M,T,W,T,F,

Before the world Trail I did

    s: 7 miles and 10 miles hiking
    s: 6 miles and 9 miles hiking
    m: 6 miles steady
    t: 11 miles at 6:30 pace
    w: 8 miles 5 x 1km reps
    t: 4 mile run 6:30 ish pace
    f: 3.5 mile run slow

That left me nice and fresh for the race..

Well that's me finished! Did 10 today, but it was very very hot!! I'm not doing that again before the L50!! A couple of short jogs and bike rides and that's me. Done 30 miles walking and 10 running in the last four days. Not massive in the real world but in mine its ok and hopefully enough time on my feet to just bring me to my peak!!
