I have tremendous indifference to the whole affair.

It's more the media overload that causes the reaction. Rather than the actual occasion itself.

My mum however is very excited.

I agree, ALL babies rock, to be quite honest I feel sorry for him, a life in the media spotlight, nightmare

I think it's lovely. Happy birthday future King  My daughter summed it up when she said "they looked just like any first time parent, overwhelmed but with better hair".
I wish them all the best.

I've obviously missed something, what's this all about?
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Some little brat has been born that is somehow "better" than us poor commoners and we have to curtsy in front of it.

Pregnant woman gives birth to baby - shocker. What a headline!

Naturally, I rushed out to get my special edition papers this morning.

My problem with this whole royalty thing is more to do with the archaic, outdated and unjust issues of hereditary power and privilege than the birth of a nipper

It's magnified ten-fold when 1 in 3 children are living in poverty, close to 50% of Western Europe's youth are unemployed, and the wealth gap between super-rich and the rest is at a record-high.

Still, lets all rejoice that we have another overlord to bow down to. We'll all sleep better in the knowledge that the monarchy will last another 100 years.
