    here we go:

basically a picture of a cloud(!), but with Derwent edge (including Lost Lad & Back Tor) underlining it

I love Rowlee Pasture - it has no redeeming features per se so nobody ever goes there, but the views in all directions are astonishing

Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run

You lucky people. I was gutted to miss it - recouperation from knee op not yet complete. After last year I said it was the best race in the Peak District, seems like alot of people agree
Its better to have fought and lost, than not have fought at all.

Salt Cellar 2017 - MrRTS Race 28 of 50@50 - Few photos I took here just before the Salt Cellar. Love this race, probably one of the toughest mediums in the Peak District. Steel City Striders are fantastic at organising it. They even import vicious Scottish midges with teeth to make it that little bit tougher! Fantastic organisation. If you are about our way next year on a Friday eve come and give it a go. Alasdair Campbell of Buxton AC won the men's race and Kim Baxter of Dark Peak won the women's race.

Thank you to the super organisers, marshals, supporters and runners. Also can I just blow my own trumpet here and say - to take these photos I ran every step from the start line up to just before the Salt Cellar :-) Obviously quite a while before the start of the race haha. I presume they were part of the deal when the Scottish mountain hares were imported to the Dark Peak.

I had to (for 20 minutes) waiting for my wife, got eaten alive!!

Very good race though. Bit single track(ish) in the early stages, it is a race for a very quick sprint at the beginning to get up those steps by the dam wall before the crowd arrives.
