    Don't sweat it Hopey.

Exactly the same thing happened to me at last year's Kentmere race. It was just one of those days when the body says "You're having a laugh mate". Trailed round most of it with my chin on my Walshes - even NotOnUrHelly beat me (only kidding Jamie ). These things soon pass though.

    Good luck.

I feel just the same ,injuries all over the body ,mentaly struggling.
The trouble when you realy are struggling is that you cut down your milage and effort and you think running at a shorter distance and an easier pace will sort everthing out but it doesnt it just feels harder and more pointless.
You look back in your old diaries and it sickens you off, bigger mileage faster races the thought you used to performe at this level makes you even worse.
    What to do ?
In my opinion the only way forward is to let "Nature take its Course".
I am going to pick a race or two in 5/6 months time i want to do well in and convince myself that the period i am in at the moment is part of a long term plan.
I have always overcome situations like this in the past and see no reason why i will not in the future.
    Time is a great healer

I know I'll get over it.

I normally enjoy racing, but yesterday I hated it and it made me think about what I was doing.
Sorry crisps are now off the menu, but i'm more than happy to sit on the sofa and drink beer

    Thanks everyone.

I'll leave Borrowdale then, and try and enjoy my running again!

Real shame that Hopey, the atmosphere and support on the Borrowdale are just superb, might even give you that little spark back again?

FYI - EVERY race is my last.

    Re: Giving up!

I'd be tempted to race too.

I did the Glen Clova race this weekend, I thought it was too soon after the WHW, but my wife was racing so went up and started steadily and really enjoyed it. because I ran with no expectations other than having a nice run in the hills I had a good time.
