    Burnsall

As luck would have it, I'm staying in Burnsall over the August fair weekend and have entered this race for the first time.

Don't usually go in for shorter ones (more of a M & L man myself!). Any pointers/tips anyone? Thanks.

Have a jog round the course beforehand (don't be put off that you can't jog down the steep bit - it all comes together when the adrenaline starts flowing!) and check out how and where to climb the walls. A lot of people mess about and can get in your way. You can pick up places if you know beforehand where 'your' spot is. I usually climb the wall early on the way up and on the way down slightly to the right of the straight line where people tend to bunch. Check out crossing the beck in the second field as well, you can save a few second there.
