I noticed crack North Eastern racer Jim Bulman ( New Marske Harriers ) on the photo's at the start line, the photos seem to show him leading at the off but then no more pictures of him and his name doesn't appear in results, so I presume a DNF? Anyone know what happened too him?

He was 3rd in the 10mile road race, 55ish. You know Jim, he don't like the rough stuff!

A great day out for all the family as usual. My lad was most disappointed not to knock a coconut off but we found on along the river bank later on. happy days! Managed a decent up and down, but really must work on my descending skills!

think I caught a fleeting glimpse of Mr & Mrs Noel, any other forumites in attendance?

Great little event. I found the start quite humbling when the winner of the race 75 years ago was introduced to the start line. Fantastic stuff.

Hi superflyguy. Yes we were there. Mrs Noel was saving herself for Grasmere.

I also got into the final of the egg throwing, but fell at the first hurdle in a very disappointing final compared with previous years. I'll have to work on that.

I was pleased to be first V40. Although I feel a bit guilty for leaving before the prize-giving, as I didn't realise I was at the time. I hope they rolled the prize.
