    Mountain Trial 2013

please amalgamate this with a pre-existing thread if there is one!

LDMT final details and Start lists are up on the website. Starting from Borrowdale YHA this year.

tentatively going to say it's between messers Fondley-Robyourbottom and Haines this year, but plenty of quality to push (and show my 8th place last year was a fluke!), especially considering it's the same weekend as the final British champs counter at Peris

As a bit of a bonus, I vaguely recall £10 beds at the YHA being advertised for Sunday night - if this is the case get them booked, as the Tour of Britain heads into Borrowdale over Honister pass around 13:00-14:00 on the Monday!

10,000 ft of climb (that's over 3,000m for you old timers)!!!

Anyone for car sharing from South Lakes on the day? I'm in Grange over Sands, could meet anywhere between here and Kendal easy enough. I'm a late entry so think that means I'll be one of the last to start, so very likely the last to finish.

I'll be heading over from Ulverston. Could pick you up at Newby Bridge.

Anyone know how they calculate the climb and distance? Straight line or planners route? If the best route is 10,000ft of climb that's bloody scary.

Fairly sure it is straight line distance and approx , like on orienteering. So assume further than it says but you might be able to cut some climb by running further?

I believe Karen is correct usually measured on a direct line so feel free to add mileage and reduce the climbing.....a bit

Yes I do it most years now and it is fairly local. We also know most of the organisers etc. I have at the moment entered the Classic, hoping my legs recover better this week than last week or it is going to be very very tough hoping for me. Bob is doing the short
