Thread: Borrowdale alternative?

    Borrowdale alternative?

I really don't feel up for racing the Borrowdale but am in the area over that weekend and fancy a day out in the hills with a bit of 'race atmosphere' thrown in - and a few bers after.

I am looking at a route starting from one of the Borrowdale campsites, up the valley to Styhead Tarn, then Gt Gable, Grn Gable, Brandreth, Grey Knotts, Honister, Dale Head, Hindscarth and Robinson. Then it's dropping into Newlands Valley and back to Borrowdale via Dalehead Tarn and the old quarries.

    Starting about 9.00am Saturday 4th.

I would be doing the route at a sort of BG type pace - with a bit of time to enjoy the views - should bump into the Borrowdale race at various stages as well.

Wouldn't mind a bit of company - any non-Borrowdale racers up for it?

I might be interested in that, however as I'm a big lazy sh*t I'll probably drop out at either honistor or Dale Head, I'll PM you closer to the time once I've made my mind up for sure.

To me, it's a sort of - energetic walk up the hills, easy jog on the flat bits and 'hell for leather' down all the best scree runs we can find! Yippee

Hopey - I had your situation (see 'giving up' thread) in mind when I posted this.

Goose Fat - yes, you are missing something - this is the alternative Borrowdale - Dale Head is just over half way!

Right I'm in, asked the Mrs last night, she says I can come out to play. And we'll camping too, she says she isn't driving me home after I've been drinking and running

I'm still thinking about this one.

Clockwise or anti clockwise BG leg 1?
