I tried to keep dead on to the 6:50 pace,(came out at 6:51, I think I lost that on the hill at 25 miles) I failed at Manchester, 3:06 after my hamstring cramped up at 22.5 miles when I was on for a 2:58.

So I played it safe at Chester, although to be honest I doubt I could have gone much faster.

Cheers! Tahr! Well done on the sub 3! Can't say I was in the same class as you or Rob. But still fairly pleased with 3.46. Had a look at splits etc and I reckon I've got a 3.30 in me, but not much more these days. We'll see, I'll have another go sometime. I just don't race, or do enough speed work etc.

Pity I missed you before the start btw!

Just out of curiosity Tahr/Rob, what are your present half marathon times?

The only half I've ever done is Baildon Boundary way, which is off road and not exactly a quick course. I did that this year in 1:28 ish

    Hi Ian

Yep sorry you were not there when we paid a visit, had a quick chat with your wife.

It has been a couple of years since I did a half and raced, but my PB was 1:23 I know I am quicker now if I was to do one.

My quads are a sore too, but more on the inside while after hill racing it is more on the fronts.
