i was hoping to see you flying up lingmell as we was heading up gable about 2.15 so perhaps we was a tad early. i kept looking across but saw no runners
some cracking views yesterday as well.
moo decided to have a strip down swim in the river at the finish so we joined her.
met some new forumites and camped at chapel house with stuart
emmi and calf got the wrong campsite
still not sure on my route to brandreth and honister
mr paul coope did the moses, i went straight over , emmis lot went left and huw and moo went right
im told billy bland goes straight over the summit
i was happy with that route so may use it
thanks to graeme for showing us the route off gable to by pass windy gap

The answer is 66/67 degrees: you find a small but evident trod, that connects up grass strips. Follow that bearing until you turn sharp left onto a level traverse trod that joins the path below the scramble above windy gap. And it is probably around 4 mins quicker than the thrutch down the rocks.

Emmi did well: we aimed to hit the checkpoints as far as styhead on a 4.15 to honister schedule. Just taking a couple of minutes breather at each checkpoint (not counted), emmi got to styhead in under 3 hours and to honister in around 4.15. Weather a lot better than expected.
