This is a fabulous race, straight to the top of the Old Man and back.

    Coniston Country Fair

There is a very remote possiblity I may have a crack at this one. Any advice re the course other than it looking incredebly steep 2400 ft in a 6 mile race seems like a lot in otherwords you've got to climb 2400ft in 3 miles. How much is runnable and is it a mad idea only the week before snowdon?

It's runnable all the way to the Walna Scar road, then it takes a good leap upwards. So you do all the climbing in about 1.5 to 2 miles. It's a classic course and well worth a day out.

I'm gonna have a go at this one. Never done one this severre a climb, hope I can manage it because where I live and the roads I train on are as flat as a fart.Taking the family up from Humberside for the day out. Hope it's not slinging it down with rain

    Re: Coniston Country Fair

    I did it

It was steep the longest steep continuous climb in a single race or at least that what it seemed like. The descent was interesting as my legs were in bits.

Was an interesting comeback race for the fells though
