    Marmot 24

Fairly recent addition to the scene from what I can see.....

Anyone on here looking at competing in the Marmot race this summer?!?

We've entered - it seemed a good idea at the time.
Can't decide whether it's best to keep going for 24 hours, return to base for a sleep, or just take a few naps out in the hills (weather allowing). I expect we'll just make it up as we go along

Potentially looking for a partner as they don't appear to offer Solo entries.
My strategy would be a bivvy bag for a half hour every two and keep on going. Maybe swinging by camp for some hot nosh and change once.

    Looks a great format.

Zoe and I will be there. Not planning to treat it as a desperately competitive event, but merely as a couple of good days out on the hill - we're going to pitch a decent sized tent at the event centre and swing by mid-evening for a good feed and some sleep! GL3D has been a great event under Shane and I'm looking forward to a blend of that and Dark Mountains. Should be fun...

Really not sure what to expect so we're preparing for all eventualities. Main aim will be to avoid a repeat of Dark Mountains when we got back late and lost all our points!

and right on cue we have a severe weather warning from the Met Office, heavy rain on Saturday followed by heavy rain and gale force winds on Sunday.

    Can't wait!
