Excellent event. Well done to the organising team at Broughton Runners. And it's sunny in Ambleside now!

It's sunny now!
Thanks to all those that came along and raced and all those that made it happen.

I've just noticed that they used the bad weather route for Ennerdale!
Should I be considering my decision making processes? I did check with the Finish Marshals before we sent the U18s to the top of Brown Pike.

Going downhill fast - until I fell over
The cloud was down to below the level of the col on the Walna Scar track, so both the under 16 and under 18 finishes were in poor visibility, down to about 40 metres, and it was windy and raining, though not that heavily, and it was not particularly cold - I only had two layers on, plus a hi vis vest, and was on the fell for nearly 4 hours. The path to the top of Brown Pike was flagged about every 25 metres, and there were marshals in hi vis vests along the route; the runners were encouraged to put their kit on as soon as they finished and were grouped for the descent. I think it was safe, but of course it was correct to ask. I would hope that all the runners had experienced similar or worse conditions before. None seemed distressed by the conditions, though some had clearly pushed themselves very hard.
