Psoriasis is a pruritic, severe dermatological condition varying in severity from minor patches on the skin to complete body coverage, the onset of the disease can be easily noticed with inflamed and reddened skin. Red scaly patches appear on the top layer of the skin. The reddened patches caused by Psoriasis or Psoriatic plaques appear frequently on the skin of the elbows and knees. It can affect any area including the scalp, soles of the feet and palms of the hand. The chronic condition is recurrent, it can occur over a period of time. Psoriasis is also non-contagious, it does not transmit from one person to another. Psoriasis is often confused for skin disease due to its severe symptoms though it is not purely a skin disease.
