    Cock hill wood fell race

    Cock Hill Wood Fell Race.

    3.37 miles (5.4KM) 1112ft climb (339m)

If you enjoyed the atmosphere and organisation of Windy Hill, then you will love our next fell offering - Cock Hill Wood Fell Race.

Superb little AS Fell race starting in Portsmouth at the Roebuck Inn.

Located in-between Burnley and Todmorden and is very easy to get to via the motorway and local roads.

    The Route:

The race goes up the climb that you descend in the forest in Flower Scar Fell Race. It continues up around the forest bends into Cock Hill Wood, under the forest tree path (which is really unique running experience) and out onto the grassy moor. It then descends for then first time down a grassy bank before taking on the next climb. This then takes you out on the other side of the valley. After a small stream crossing it returns to the grassy bank for the final descent.

Tough Fell Race, but really good footing for running, fully flagged and marshalled route, with sweepers back.

    All abilities welcome.
