    is fitness a healthy obsession?
Is it those endorphins making you feel this competetive?

    Mud,

Here's where we are going wrong. I've just been looking for some swimming tips and one site came up with these genuine handy hints...

    - Your posture should be such that your head is in line with your spine.
    - Your trunk should be in such a position, so that it maintains a proper shoulder-hip connection.
    - Shifting from a low beat kick to a higher one is preferable only for those, who have adequate practice in doing so.
    - Breathing should be avoided while swimming.

So, to recap. Don't break your kneck, don't let your legs fall off, take care when high kicking, it sounds dangerous. As for the last one, I think I definately need to swim faster so that I don't have to hold my breath for the whole mile.

It is useful when you are sinking.

I think I've found the perfect wetsuit for the race. What do you think the reaction on the start line would be?

I might go for the last minute bid. Honest.

Competition's hotting up. I see theNoor's top of the entry list. Morgan Donelly's there too.

This week's news is that I've finally splashed out on a wetsuit. Might wait a week or two to see if Ullswater hots up a bit. Anyone want to join me?

i reckon ullswater will be freezing. Dont know the reasdon why but i am told that it is usually colder than most of the lakes, possibly due to its depth? we need a geographer - but if you thinking of windermere or rydal; i'd be keen. keep me posted/emailed
