    Lee Mill Relays

    A new fell relay race is being organised by Richard Stott of Rossendale Harriers. Full details are below and further details and online entry can be done via the link on the Rossendale Harriers Diary page on the club website or directly on the Si entries ( Sportident ) online entry website. It's a good tough route for teams of 4 over typical South Pennines Terrain.
    A map of the route will be available on the club website soon.

    Sunday 14th Dec 10am start

    Teams of four, men,ladies or mix

    New relay event set in the Lee mill Quarry site, for teams of four runners. All four runners will run individual over a 10k flagged course.

    At 10k the race is open to U18.

    Clubs can enter teams, but not have to declare the individual runners till nearer race date.

    Please note, team captains, this is a hard and demanding route, possibly run in wintery conditions, please ensure your runners are aware the risk involved.

    Full kit including full waterproof bodycover, hat, gloves, compass and whistle must be carried. Stringent kit check will be made to all competitors. A map of the course will be provided on registering.

    The race route for relay is the one being used for the Rossendale mid-week series back next year. Lee Mill as will appear in calender will be the first of four wens nite races on 26th July, followed by whittle, Pilgrims and Golf Ball. Overall prize for best three out of four.

    We now have twitter site 'Lee Mill Relay Race' that i'll keep up to date with latest info. I'm going to arrange a run round as well, it's a great route!

    Just something to pick up about the entries to this event. When we looked at race route it was deliberately kept to 10k, this means U18's can run and get everyone in the mix. There will be no separate U18 cat though, but if there's enough juniors this year, we may have next time.

    Plug for Rossendale's new 4 member fell relay this Dec 14th. 10k course over some demanding Lancashire countryside with typical bogs and rocks. There's a £50 bonus for fastest M/F individual lap as well. If you want to check out the route before, Reccie this Sun morn at 10 from Futures Park, OL13 0BB. Cheers!

    Nice reccie run this morning, Real wet after the rain. Should be fun next Sunday.
