Actually did a similar thing today. Worked quite well, although we went past mine at 15.5 miles before picking the pace up for the last 4.5 miles (~8 min miling to 7:25 miling).

20 miles in 2:39 today so I'm thinking closer to 3:15 on race day.

now if you were to do the 15.5 on trail the saying is take 1 min of a mile on race day on road you could be looking more like minus 3

All road today but will make a few of my long runs off-road for the next few weeks and see where I'm at - cheers for the help Vespa, it's much appreciated.

it supposed to say under 3hr
the trail has only got to be on par with the contours of the road you use so no serious off roading for the 1 min a mile to work enjoy the running

    Not bad...

13 miler to come today, 17 last Sunday in icey cold rain..

    13 miler midweek, plus 2 sessions, 3 x 2 miles (5:30-5:35 pace), then Friday night 4 x 600 breakouts (reps of 600m, 400m, 300m, 200m) at 4:45-5:00 pace.

Then Thursday 8 miles 6:40 pace.

Need a proper long run one night this week but not too bothered to go over 17 at the moment.
