With the weather like this you should be o.k. When I recced it last month I hardly touched the 2 litres I was carrying. Main places for water are just before climb upto check point 2, stream at check point 3 and stream at check point 4. Carrying a bottle and filling it up should do.

Hoping to be there in support rather than taking part as I'm doing a mtb/running event on the Saturday that's not too far away and I really don't think I'll be in any fit state on Sunday to do anything other than watch...oh and rattle a bell maybe.

    Hey Hotdog,

I seem to remember talking to you about cowbells very late in the evening in the marque at Borrowdale

Ah yes everything was a bit fuzzy that evening. I seem to remember you introducing me to Mrs Helly as the bloke who turns up at fell races and rings his bell at the runners

    Yes, I do remember

We have tried the cowbells at our local races, they just dont have the same appeal as hearing them through rain, fog, slippy rock and after two hours of running.

seems to have worked. Not having run before I found it useful to get an image of what's in store.
Any opinions out there? I have more!

    Re: Sedbergh Hills

Thanks Pike - great help that - I hope. I had the route right from the various tips and reports I've picked up on except for the Control 2 - 3.

Not sure whether to potter around Darwen Gala Race today with my daughter - I'll probably end up running half the course supporting anyway!

    Looking forward to tomorrow.
