Well don't know who did what today, but it was interesting to see the different route choices being made back from Winder - it surprised the tail end of the U18/20 race who were climbing across the descent, as the leaders were coming through.
    A circular route mostly downhill

Descent from Winder was taped by time I got there?

Struggled on first half, loved the descent from 1 to 2 and only really got going after that from 4 to 6 although a nice run in. Great course and weather was quite good for running bar a bit of wind.

Reckon I should have descended sooner at 4 and used the path not contoured round to the checkpoint and descend. Contoured too far on Simons seat as well. What did others do?

    Knackered now!

Not being used to this - the decent from Simon's Seat and the last climb before 4 up Hazelgill Knott and the decent to 4 stretched me to my limit. I wasn't so bad until then. Got up to the Calf Ok but had to just lumber in gently from there as I was starting to cramp up by then.
Glad I did it, and hopefully I can be better prepared for the next AL race.

Chipping next week now - 1st time again.

Thanks to the organisers for this - enjoyed it immensely.
Good to see Jamie again and nice to meet Emmilou. Sorry about instantly bragging about being top of the FRA Fantasy Football league (he says, doing it again ).

Got under three hours - so all is well.

Emmilou - it was good to see you at that last checkpoint, and the rest of the guys - thanks for a great event. Especialy those at 3 and 4 - a bleak long day.

The race does not always go to the swift, but to the ones who keep running

I was merely spectating with a bit of pointing (the junior races) and frozen clapping for the seniors! Oh and a bullying cheer for NOYH!!

The 2 marshalls on that trig point indeed had a long day (in the sense 5 minutes in that gale felt like 25!) I'm sure they were glad for the coffee back at the hall!

good to see the front runners for once as oppose to always following at the back - I'd have done it myself but but.....!

God that was a hard race,

Wish I'd have took that short cut after the calf, I was in a party of four at that point it was really foggy.

One guy went for the short cut, the other two went over the top, I followed the majority.

Good job I did, cos the guy got lost and came in 15 minutes after us.

I fell apart shortly after that and wobbled my way to Winder and down the hill to the finish

That short cut does save a min or 2 - i'll point it out to you sometime, perhaps on a pre NOUH-BG training run

You ran well mate, esp on the descent to CP4, you bloody flew down there.
