    Hobbit Botherer: one tip for reccying is that you can use the train to get to the start/end of legs with stations at Tulloch near Fersit, and Corrour. The lodge at Tulloch is good to stay at too.

    I do herby potatoes..mint is my favourite but do a spicy yogurt version, put the mine a zip lock bag.

    Bill you need to see me going uphills when going through that phase, its like someone stabbed me on the chest and tied my feet together on the ground, but still manage well on the downhills friends think what was all that fuss about ?

    Ian how you do your herby potatoes ?

    Boiled in salty water some times with mint.
    Drain when cooked then a good dollop of salty butter with chopped herbs of your choice. Allow to cool then bag up in little zip lock bags.
    I reckon you could do the same and add garamasalla or similar.
    Another option I have used is to cut potatoes up and make a potato salad with mayo and some onion. But you could add any thing...small cubes of cheese etc. Again in a zip lock bag you can squeeze in to your mouth.
    I have wondered about doing something similar with rice.
    ON Ian Fitzs Paddy he had noodles in a curry sauce in bags....imagination is our only Limiting factor
