Scafell pike was rough today, snowing windy and very cold. There's a fair bit of snow on the ground too. A bit awkward but nothing too bad. There's enough rock showing for reasonably easy traction. Sca fell ascent maybe a bit tricky though.

Sounds like AndyGibs had brutal conditions on his Paddy Buckley attempt on Saturday. Abandoned it after a couple of legs. High winds and very difficult underfoot conditions. He done very well to get as far as he did.

It was pretty horrible. We came up from Sleight Side, over Sca Fell then down Foxes before climbing back up to Mickledore and then onwards to Scafell Pike. The wind really picked up as we were passing Ill Crag, developing into a mini-blizzard. Just goes to show, you can never tell - what is they say about Never Casting a Clout?
