I reckon I'm up for it. Mostly runnable, though the final climb up on to the Chevin at about 20+ miles is probably walked by most.

Worth recceing from leaving Ilkley Moor through Menston to the Chevin.

Thanks someone else has given the same advice. Assume that trail shoes will be best and do you need to carry any food apart from the mandatory emergency stuff?

Yes, trail shoes will be fine, apart from the climb up to the Chevin it is all reasonable angled slopes, could be muddy for parts like along the top of Ilkley Moor.

From memory, there are food (biscuit) and water stations just before and after Ilkley Moor.

I did 3hr 39 last time so will try to beat that

They've always had buns when I've done it. Plain buns with a blob of icing on the top. Go down a treat when you're running. I've never taken anything else to eat. (The icing blobs are white, yellow and pink I think!)

Not sure if this is the right section for this post, I know it's only 25 miles, but it's not really a race either.

Certainly will be a long distance challenge for me!
    I'll be there.

Damn. If only the icing had been any other colour, I'd have been entering...

Just wear sunglasses Dom (or coloured contact lenses) and they'll look a different colour

    Hi Guys

Newbie to the FRA forums but enjoy lots of LDWA challenge events. Am looking forward to doing this one again, I just wondered does anyone know of anyone who is unable to partake but has an entry? If they would consider transferring it, we would reimburse you and be extremely grateful. My friend really wants to do it (after hearing me go on and on about it), but has missed the entry deadline.

    Thanks

    Question Re: Rombalds Stride

Does anyone know if there is mandatory kit for this event?

Mind you, the way things are at the moment round here, double full body cover is in order along with some lead weights to stop you blowing away
