Myself and a couple of friends are heading up for this one. A first for me in the area so looking forward to it.
Perfect weather for it - the rain held off until the race had finished. Visibility was excellent, with little in the way of wind. Whilst boggy in places, it was drier than two years ago. That long descent has to be one of the best in the calendar. Thanks to the RO/marshals.
Agreed, excellent race perfect conditions, a great route and with plenty of post race entertainment on the show field too. Thanks to all marshals and organisers.

When I started fell running this year, I'd envisaged runs over rolling moorland, a sense of being 'out there', long climbs and grassy descents, falls and tumbles and foreboding cloudscapes. This race pretty much ticked this yesterday - thoroughly enjoyed it!
Usual thanks to all the marshals and RO's that make these events possible for us to turn up and just run.
Worth the eight hour round trip? For sure. I'll be back next year!! Just gutted I missed the winner of the carved walking stick competition!!!

Heading up for this tomorrow, and a double with Sedbergh Hills on sunday.
Not done either race before... this one looks pretty runnable. Looking forward to it. Weather forecast is not fantastic for the weekend but Saturday the better day, so hoping to get away with some reasonable visibility, having only ever ventured onto the Howgills once before.
