This is to confirm that the England U17 (athletes born in 1999 and 2000) trial for the Junior Home International will go ahead as planned on 15 August. Some of you will be aware that Wales have moved their U17 trial to 22 August, the same day as the GB trial (senior and U20) for the World Championships, which incorporates the U20 England and Wales trials for the Junior Home International. The England U17 trial was to be held in conjunction with the Welsh trial but we feel it important to stick to the published date as people will have planned holidays around it. In addition, holding the U17 trial on a separate weekend to the GB trial will allow athletes to contest both trials should they wish to do so (the GB U20 team is open to athletes born in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999). We will therefore organise a separate England U17 trial on 15 August in the Lake District. We will publish details shortly.

There is to be an U20 England, Scotland and Wales training camp in Betws-y-Coed from 23-25 August. Invitations will be sent out in the near future. This means that athletes doing the U20 trial on 22 August will have to find somewhere to stay on the night 22/23 August. Unfortunately the hostel accommodation was unavailable for this night.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
I would be grateful if you could pass on this information to anybody you know for whom it is relevant
