Something went wrong at Dunmail Roy got there with his single support and there was nobody there to meet him. He done leg 3 on his own but falling well behind time. We were just behind him at Bowfell having started 15 minutes before him and we where way over time due to our own logistics cockup at Dunmail that cost us over an hour. We had decided to call it quits by then due to being so over and my ITB issue. He contact me to say hello and mentioned he timed out on the road.

It was a pity because the conditions could not have been better. I had a really enjoyable leg 1,2 and 3 to Rosset Pike where the ITB/knee packed in.

We met Roy just before Esk Pike and he was 1hr 35 down on schedule having lost time at Dunmail as mentioned above and suffering from having had limited support on leg 3 until then (although think he'd been witnessed by a female runner from this forum until Bowfell?). We pushed hard through end leg 3 and then leg 4 (which he did in 4hr 44 with great support from Jack) and then had 2hr 30 left for leg 5. Unfortunately despite a cracking effort he couldn't claw back time and with a slow descent off Robinson in the dark timed out at start of road section.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like he gave his best shot regardless. I am sure he'll get round with the right support. Still time to give another go this year.
