Didn't really get to see the view either, although Lloyd was a sight to behold flying down the hill as I was making my way up!

Must get up there for a walk and check out the view from the top properly. Does the Navigation do good food?

Just had time for a sneak peek at the view - agree I must have a walk up there sometime. I presume there's another way up that avoids those stinking bogs - my garage smelt like Baldrick had been eating dung in there when I unpacked my kit.

There seemed to be plenty of people tucking into very large portions when I was both registering and refreshing.

Darth, did I read on another thread that this was the first time you've done Eccles Pike? Mrs Noel was surprised to hear it, given your experience (note I said 'experience' and not 'age').

What did you think of it?

Many Thanks to GVS for organising this ace little race
unusual distance 3M - difficult to get to right pace - reminded me a bit of a "scaled down" Blackstone Edge

Ah one of my favourite races which I did 6 or 7 times many years ago - I used to love diving off the top of the Pike. Times were a bit slow last night?? Lloyd was a minute and a half quicker eleven years ago when he and I were running for Buxton AC (barefoot days!). I was only just inside top half of the field then but with that time last night I'd have been 17th. Has the route been altered?

    Yes.
Usual start then turned left across the pub car park, right over A6 footbridge, along side of cricket pitch, right along lane in front of houses to rejoin old route on lane where the climb starts. Basically now does 3 sides of a rectangle where it used to do one. Most people reckoned it was at least a couple of minutes slower, I was 2-22 (and 5 places!) slower than 2007.
