    Replacement GPS

    I have a treasured Garmin Forerunner 205.
It's main value for me is that I can load TCX or GPX files into it and use it to reccy fell races.
Loading GPX/TCX from bikehike is dead simple using a USB cable.

The thing is - the battery life is slowly getting shorter and shorter and soon I'm going to have to find a replacement watch.

Question: What would be the closest replacement that allows upload of GPX/TCX files via a cable (none of this wireless malarkey)
    With a reasonable battery life.
Cheap - none of your daft £200 - £300 price range.

I struggled to find a cheap replacement and finished up getting an Ambit 2 but it's a bit of a pain needing an internet connection to upload routes to it. There's a thread on here somewhere about an Aldi/Lidl/type one which *may* fit the bill?

I can't seem to edit my last post - here's the link, it was Aldi.

    Hmm,

judging by the paucity of responses, I suppose the Forerunner 205 has left a gap in the market that no one wants to fill. I love Aldi and Lidl stuff and I wish I wish I had bought one or two of Aldi's GPS watches. But someone had just GIVEN me a Garmin 310 XT. But the HR monitor never worked (my Lidl HRM is still ticking along nicely) and if I have to upload another effing update the 310XT is going to get hit with a hammer.
