    2016 champs

Anyone know which races are in English or British champs next year? I've heard rumours...

I asked recently when passing through Pete Bland's:

A short in the Western Peak apparently, not sure which one; a new race in Pendle area (can't remember what length) & a couple of classic Lakes longs (can't remember which - perhaps Langdale was one of them?)

When I asked, I was told that there's no secrecy surrounding the champs races, though what I was told has clearly been garbled by my memory!

I can once again confirm Shutlingsloe is not in the champs.

I'm always glad to help on these discussions.

Why on earth not??! A great race where you can stand on the start line and watch the whole race!

Yes, I agree. Although I think perhaps we'd need to split it into about 3 different races (women, men, male vets to avoid bottlenecks in the bluebell woods of doom.

well it's Borrowdale's turn via the Lakeland Classic rotation system.
Mount Famine in the W peaks was mooted, but apparently NatTrust issues with a large field. Heard that James' Thorn is its replacement. Fast, short, steep!
Also rumour of Black Combe, but I thought that for this year as well. Nervous for the future of my downhill record there then!

I also recall hearing about a new Pendle route - maybe a middle, a steeper version of the Stan Bradshaw?
    again, all just hearsay!

What! We don't do bottlenecks up here, i've seen people climbing cliffs in order to keep going, in the end it had to be outlawed.

I asked Jon B at Guisborough

    He said this wasn't secret...

    Longs: Borrowdale and Langdale
Mediums: Black Combe and something new on Pendle
    Shorts: understandably, Jon had forgotten.

I'm more interested in the British TBH - they're more fun, and generally (apart from the one which is also on the English - why on earth do they do that???) easier to get in to :-)

Would that be the same Pendle that already has too many races on it......apparently!
Ian Roberts Fell Race. Dare you take on the Marsden Moor Tussocks? There's cake in it for you

I reckon it'll be the one that's selected for the British counter too. Entries limited to 20, entries open (and close) on February 29th.
