Hardberry Hill trig - a swift 45 mins there and back with loads of route variations/extensions if so desired, with an easy add on hill rep section from Red Grooves house and back, and down and back, and... . Runnable day and night. A regular headtorcher after a winter's weekday return from work.

    Borrowed these pics from flickr....

Trig point atop Bromley Muir, grid ref NS 36877 80516, about 300 m high, variety of routes from 45 mins up n down, on one side, Loch Lomond, its islands and the Ben in the distance, the other side looking over the Clyde estuary, the Arran hills peaking over the hills behind Greenock.

I'm very lucky to have Blencathra - this from the back garden. The downside is that it makes you reluctant to go further afield!

Loughrigg one way, Wansfell the other, and it is not far to either end of the Fairfield Horseshoe and for that matter Red Screes. Loughrigg is my favourite.

Clougha pike for me. Not the highest, but it has great views of Lancaster, Morecambe bay and better running terrain beyond. Namely, The lakes and the Yorkshire dales.

Axe Edge just inside the Derbyshire border is probably closest to me (with a trig) in Buxton. Unless you count Burbage edge.

Kelston Roundhill on the Cotswold Way out of Bath. Got a nice nearly all offroad route from my front door taking in Kelston Roundhill, Bath Racecourse and Beckfords Tower. Only 270m of climbing in 12.5k but a great run.
Fell, road, track, XC... it's all good running.

Edinburgh - Allermuir in the Pentlands a short bus ride away. Arthur's Seat - enough little trails and bumps for well over an hours hilly workout, with great city views at night at the moment.
