We've just started filling in this year's calendar. I'm lucky to have been invited to two weddings this year. I've now realised that they're on the same days as Black Combe and Borrowdale! So I now know my four absolute target races.

I'm also booked in for a few sportives - Tour of the peak as a warm-up for Coast-to-coast-in-a-day.

Well the main aim of the year has been achieved already in that Mrs K and I have agreed roughly / specifically on our holidays and trips so running events can fit around those not vice versa! It means some brilliant runs are out of bounds this year (Borrowdale, Haworth Hobble, Y3P, Glencoe Skyline) so they'll have to wait, balance is a good thing I'm still spoilt for choice though. Booked in so far are Country to Capital, Arc of Attrition, Fellsman and L100. C2C walk and another week of the SW Coast Path are also booked in, I just love being out whatever the pace. In other news, this Christmas I finally acquired Unbreakable, the Western States dvd, and watched that, and am going absolutely brilliantly with my run every day regime this year, although that may founder today ....

Get my body healthy enough to train for a couple of hours per week without any injuries cropping up by the end of the year. Been a long road recovering from acl surgery and there's a lot of stuff out of balance by this point. 2016 is the year to put that all right.

I'm hoping to do the BG route over 3 days with my 16 year old lad after he finishes his exams this summer. Neither of us are "24hr fit" so we might as well just go out and enjoy it as a running holiday.
Looking forward to Windy Hill next month, The OMM as always and I need to get a PB at Cosdon to avenge the utterly inexcusable nav error I made last year.

How long have you been fell running Calvin ?
The reason I ask is a lot of these races are highly over subscribed ,lots of runners like to just target one or two of the biggies giving other people the chance to get an entry

Not long. I joined the Dashers in November 2014, did about 4 fell races before that but only the 3 Darwen ones and Great Hill (Chorley). Did a lot of races last year though, mainly in Lancs/Yorks area, although did Scafell & Kentmere Horseshoe, probably one of the most inexperienced on the fells in a race to be honest
